I heard that the Quadrangle at Ft Sam Houston have deer and peacocks that the kids can feed, so we had to check it out for ourselves. I cleaned out our fridge of fruits and vegatables prior to leaving since I had also heard that you couldn't feed the animals any bread, crackers or popcorn (there is a sign upon entry stating this).
Right away we were greeted by a peacock who was apparently hungy. What do you feed a peacock if you can't bring bread I wondered. We didn't feed him instead we headed for the back of the Quad to feed the deer that are roaming about. The peacock followed us. Victoria didn't like this at all and was frighted by him.
In the end I discovered that peacocks (and geese and chickens too) do eat vegatables!
